As a contester in the upcoming local body Christchurch Mayoral election, one can be forgiven for thinking the media have commenced their play in determining who is elected.
No one has yet registered with the electoral office.
It may yet come down to the difference between the 'serious contenders' where the lightweights make the difference. Media forget this....
In all likelihood, this candidate may well be the only person who has contested Christchurch East in National and Local Body elections, and contested the City mayoralty before. (three times)
I am looking forward to applying to the electoral commission for the "serious contenders" only forms to fill in.
